Dr M Rejoins Proton, Thanks PM For RM1.5bil

KUALA LUMPUR:  Just hours after the government announced Proton would receive a RM1.5bil ‘soft loan on Friday,’ the grand old man of Malaysian politics Dr Mahathir Mohamad announced he had resumed his Chairmanship of the local car maker.

“I don’t remember resigning as Chairman,” said Dr M smiling, “but then I’m old and forget things from time to time!”

“If the government withdraws the RM1.5bil soft loan because I’m back, I’ll just have to ‘resign’ again.” the former premier said laughing,  “the PM isn’t going to punish thousands of auto workers because of a personal vendetta with me is he?”

“Honestly, this is the most fun I’ve had in years!”
