Govt Announces Cooking Oil Increase Ahead Of Wonderful People’s Budget

PUTRAJAYA:   Following standard government protocol, news of cooking oil subsidy reductions were leaked early this week, allowing the Prime Minister to announce a raft of measures to help struggling Malaysians through hard times in his upcoming Budget speech.

“We can’t have people thinking cooking oil price rises which basically hits anyone eating out or cooking at home was the PM’s idea,” explained a Treasury official, “this is supposed to be a populist budget!

“It’s smarter to get all the bad news of toll hikes, subsidy reductions and ministry funding cuts out of the way early, so the PM can boost his popularity by surprising us with details of BR1M and other goodies on budget day!”
