Zairil’s ‘fake photo’ defence inspires thousands caught by speed cameras

KUALA LUMPUR:   Today the 10,000 plus motorists caught on speed camera by the Road Transport Department, agreed with Bukit Bendera MP Zairil Khir Johari’s argument that incriminating photos aren’t always genuine.

“I can totally relate to the difficult position Zairil is in,” said KL motorist Abdullah Abu Bakar, “look at this summons I received today.  Yes there’s a photo of my car doing 140KM/Hr on the NKVE at the time I regularly drive home from work, but this photo taken by the RTD’s speed camera is obviously fake!”

After seeing this photo taken last week, Datuk V.K. Lingam was quoted saying, “this looks like me, and the guy drives like me, but it could be anyone sitting in my BMW like that!”

While motorists will lose up to 20 Kejara points if caught on camera, DAP experts are currently debating how many reelection points the photos featuring Zairil will cost them.
