Singapore Escobar Owner Apologises, Will Rename Restaurant ‘El Chapo’

SINGAPORE:  Tonight sources close to a controversial China Square nightspot ‘Escobar,’ which had offended locals and the Columbian government by glorifying drug kingpin Pablo Escobar, confirmed the controbersal gastrobar will be rebranded.

“Our intention was never to offend, and we will be complying with the authorities by removing all references to Pablo Escobar,” he said, “drug cartel operators responsible for the death of thousands aren’t cool and shouldn’t be glorified.”

“We’ve decided to renovate and embrace a Mexican vibe in the restaurant.   The staff and tables are down quite low so we’re planning on calling the bar ‘shorty’ which in Spanish translates to ‘El Chapo.’
