MACC Shows Up Indonesian Police By Seizing Luxury Sampan

PENANG: In an apparent tit for tat response to yesterday’s Bali seizure of the 1MDB-linked luxury yacht Equanimity by Indonesian police, today Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) officials showed off their own maritime corruption haul after seizing a 10-foot luxury sampan they suspect is linked to a corrupt Datuk Seri.

“We have been watching this luxury sampan for some time now,” said a MACC spokesman at the scene, “now we are interviewing the one-man crew in connection with possible links to money laundering, or the Penang undersea tunnel.”

There was only one crew member onboard the sampan which was decked out with wooden plywood seating, diesel outboard motor, fishing line, and a bag of keropok.
