Sabah Assemblymen Call For Smooth Transfer Of Funds

KOTA KINABULU: With a hung state parliament, today newly elected representatives of Sabah Barisan Nasional and Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (Star) said they remain committed to upholding the will of the people and emphasised the importance of a smooth orderly transfer of funds to their offshore bank accounts.

“Without this smooth transfer of millions into our overseas accounts we wouldn’t be able to obtain a simple majority to fulfil our obligation to voters,” said a source close to assemblyman Dr Jeffry Kitingan finalising a backroom deal, “it’s a tough job, but someone has to do it!”

“While we hope the transfer will be smooth, Sabah still upholds the rule of law which clearly states banks here are closed until Monday!”
