PUTRAJAYA: Still reeling from the shock resignations of Kimanis MP Anifah Aman and Supreme Council member Mustapa ‘Tok Pa’ Mohamed, disgruntled Umno party members said their departure was due to the slow pace of party reforms.
“There is a serious and immediate need for Umno to transform itself into an incumbent ruling government,” said an angry party MP who had no problem with the party’s corrupt, racist overtones while they were in power,
“We’ve given party leaders months to negotiate a PAS PKR alliance to topple Pakatan yet here we are, still a cash-strapped opposition party without the authority or funding to award family members juicy contracts.”
“Have you ever tried only living off an MP’s salary? It’s a nightmare!”
