Govt Calls On Mamak Eateries To Cut Sugar, Not Sell Cigarettes, Install Crossfit Gyms

NATION: Health Ministry officials today lauded Nasi Kandar chain, Pelita’s decision to no longer sell cigarettes while urging other eateries to cut sugar in drinks and install crossfit gymnasiums to improve the nation’s health.

“I thought how much syrup I get in my barley juice was my business, but it seems the government is very concerned,” one Mamak restaurant customer remarked before preparing to do some rope exercises and squats at the eatery gym.

Health Ministry experts report restaurant owners are open to a proposal to merge the nation’s Mamaks with Fitness First, if like gyms most consumers give them money each month and not turn up.
